MATCHING RESCUED PETS WITH LOVING HOMES

Adopt-A-Pet relies completely on volunteers to help the rescued animals of our community. We have several volunteer opportunities. Help is needed in many areas, whether that be working directly with the animals to phone and clerical work. Whether you can help just a few hours a month or are interested in taking a more active role, Adopt-A-Pet needs your help.

Foster Homes
Caring foster homes are always needed. Since Adopt-A-Pet does not have a shelter to house our rescued pets, we rely on foster homes to care for the animals while they wait for adoption. Foster homes provide daily care and love for the animals and Adopt-A-Pet handles all the medical expenses. Fostering can range from a few weeks to months, depending on how long it may take to find an adoptive family.

Adoption Counselor
Work with potential adopters and match them with rescued pets by matching the pet's personality with the adopter's lifestyle, time available for the animal, and family needs.

Volunteer Coordinator
Interview volunteers to find their interests and match them with opportunities. Schedule volunteers and pets for Adoption Days.

Adoption Days Staff
Care for the animals shown at Adoption Days, answer questions about the animals available for adoption and the Adopt-A-Pet program. Help set-up of the show.

Outreach/Fundraising/Public Relations
Visit schools and local groups to provide humane education, plan and participate in fundraising activities, and help with television and radio commercials.

Phone/Office
Make phone calls to follow-up on adoptions, help with mailings, assist with newsletters.
