3/13/2010 - Update - Trigger had a successful surgery on 3\10.  Thanks to everyone who supported Trigger through the surgery with no complications.  He is at his foster home resting comfortably.  A new bed was purchased for him to recover in.  His activity level is at a minimum until he goes in for a re-check on 3/19.  Everyone was so wonderful to him in his recovery.
Thanks to those who have donated to help cover his surgery.  The support has been great so far and we are still collecting donations to help with his medical expenses.  Thank you!

- Trigger is a 5-year-old Terrier mix Adopt-A-Pet has taken out of a local pound.  He has a very sweet personality. This little guy previously had an injury to his right front leg - it was repaired with a plate and screws.  Without knowing his past, we do not know how long ago the repair was made, but he does not use his leg at all. X-rays have been done and show the bone is not healthy.  It appears that the best option for the little guy is to amputate his leg.  He will be having surgery March 10th so if you want to send him good thoughts on a speedy recovery that would be great!
We are trying to raise additional donations to help with Trigger's medical expenses.  If you would like to donate, you can use the fundraising badge you see here or see our How To Help page for information on how to send donations to Adopt-A-Pet. If you indicate "Trigger" on your donation, we will ensure it goes to his medical expenses.  The badge you see here only reflects donations given through the badge and we set a goal to try to raise $1500.00
Thank you!
2/6/2010 - Figures from the animal pounds in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo show that 379 cats and 25 dogs were euthanized at the local pounds in 2009. This was a reduction of 319 cat euthanizations and 60 dog euthanizations from 2008! Please continue to help pet rescue organizations by adopting homeless pets. The great majority of our pets come from the pound, so adopting allows us to rescue more from a needless death. Lets continue to drive these euthanization numbers down!
Adopt-A-Pet of Fargo-Moorhead is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization; It is a
completely volunteer-run, local animal organization with the primary goal of placing rescued pets in loving and responsible homes.  Adopt-A-Pet has NO shelter.  Instead, foster homes are used for the animals until they are adopted.  AAP operates under a no-kill policy.  The animals are kept under AAP care until a permanent home can be found, no matter how long it takes.  AAP is dedicated to keeping the animals happy and healthy at all times and the welfare of the animals is our primary concern.

AAP receives no government financial support and is NOT affiliated with any other animal rescue organizations in the Fargo-Moorhead area.  AAP relies solely on private donations, fundraising events, and adoption fees to continue its operations.  These funds help cover the cost of food, medical supplies, and veterinary expenses. We are 100% funded by your donations.  Monetary donations may be sent to:
