We got Baby, as she was then known, at least six years ago. She was phenomenally fostered and is a magnificent, loving cat. We can't imagine life without her. I just want her foster mother, who had tears in her eyes when she brought "Baby"; to us, that we adore this girl.

I'll never forget the beautiful summer day in August when I
went to Trollwood Park for some music and relaxation. Little did I know what
was waiting for me under one of the big majestic trees. As I walked up I saw a
crate with very cute kitties, and one in particular looking out the back of the
cage. I had no intention of adopting a kitty that day but when I lifted up that
little girl and she gave me a lick on the nose, I knew she was meant to be mine.
That was 17 yrs ago and today I had to do the impossible. She lived a long
happy life and moved with me from Fargo to Des Moines and then to Phoenix. She
was the sweetest kitty, always wanted to be on my lap or next to me. She even
ran to door when I came home. I will miss her deeply but I know she is at
peace. I was so blessed to have such a loving companion for so many years. Rest
in peace, Maggie.

We adopted Cookie in late winter, 2011. The first night was a little rough but she warmed up to us quick. She sleeps with us every night and is our alarm clock every morning. When we get home from work she greets us at the door with a welcome home meow. She loves cuddling next to us on the couch in the mornings and watching birds from the windows in the afternoon. She LOVES to talk, she is a very big talker but we wouldn't have it any other way. She is a great edition to our home.

When I went to adopt a cat from Adopt-A-Pet in 2003 in Minnesota, I did not know that I would make one happy cat out of a simple visit. I looked around a bit in the cages, and I was about to leave when, I saw this Orange and Black cat. It was love at first sight. I asked the owner what had happened and he said that the cat had been hit by a semi truck while going out to the river. I adopted the cat and called it Garfield. I still have Garfield to this day.-James
After
we rescued our 1st kitty (She was abandoned; found on the road. Too
young to be away from mommy.), we discovered she needed a friend. She
had seperation anxiety. We did a lot of research; discovered how perfect
Adopt-A-Pet is. Trigger, as he was named before, is now Artaius to us. Our 1st kitty is no longer lonely and they both are very attached to each other. Thank you for giving us the perfect cat Adopt-A-Pet! My lover, my kitty, and I love him immensely and can't imagine our life without him! He's the perfect fit in our family and you even helped match his personality to ours! We adopted him when he was about 6 months and now he's 1 yr 7 mo. old. Black and white kitty with pink tipped ears and nose, and the prettiest tail. Gorgeous! He's happy, healthy, and loves us.
If you are considering adopting from Adopt-A-Pet pay attention to this: Adopt from them instead of a pet store. Save a life! And get love for a lifetime.
This
past summer, my bunny passed away, leaving his feline best friend and
I. Tigger (Tigs) was so sad being alone during the day while I was at
work. I knew I had to find her a friend she could play with while I
was gone. I looked online and read about Carmella (the darker cat in
the photo). In writing, Carmie seemed like the perfect match for my
Tigs. After meeting her, I knew she was going to fit into our family
perfectly. Tigger was apprehensive about Carmella at first. She was
not sure about having another cat in her space. During the 2 week trial
(that was extended due to some scheduling things), my apartment had
an accidental kitchen fire. The two were safe and we all went to a hotel
for 3 days and then a temporary apartment until my place could be cleaned
up. During this time, they became the best of friends. We are now back
in the original apartment and they are doing just fine. Carmella is
still young and enjoys startling Tigger. When the day is over, they
like to cuddle and appreciate each others company. Thank you Adopt-a-Pet
for bringing me the perfect friend! Sincerely,
Margot
We got our cat Persy from the Humane Society in St. Paul, MN in 2006.
Perse was 5 at the time, and he was our 'cancer' cat -- My husband Steve
was undergoing grueling chemotherapy treatments, which eventually ended
in amputation and more treatments. Persy was our savior - he provided
hours of entertainment and snuggles when we needed it most. We knew Perse was getting older, and we knew we'd be devastated when he died. That's when we visited the Adopt-a-Pet's website, and called the number. We were introduced to a great foster home with lots of kitties running around. As we were sitting, getting to know the kitties, I made a friend. Steve also made a friend. I looked at him and said "Lets get both" - and so we did.
Drax (now Thax) and Bowie settled in with Persy - Persy became the 'mom' to them, cuddling them and giving lots of baths. They fit it perfectly!
Only a few short months later Persy started getting sick, and eventually had to be put down. The little guys mourned his absence, but were a great happiness for our loss.
Bowie and Thax - We're so happy we found you!
This
is Ruby and Sophie - formerly known as Katie and Kelsey - on their front
porch. They are now just over a year, and are a great addition to my
home. My neighbor's daycare kids think they are the best, too..
We
adpoted Donatello and Pumpkin in May of 2009. We broke the rules by
renaming them Ole and Lena. The names seemed to fit and they responded
to them right away. It's possible they would respond to any names
but they were very comfortable with the gradual change. We are very
grateful to Adopt-A-Pet and the foster homes where they lived for making
life so good for them and socializing them so well. They are great with
other people and pets. Our old dog Chester was recently put to rest
and they looked for him for a few days but are fine now. We have traveled
with them a couple of times and Lena never stops talking and Ole just
chills out. She doesn't seem stressed - just vocal. They are very
comfortable in a different setting and explore the houses, find their
food and water and the litter. Good cats!! They love sitting in our
windows watching the bird feeders and their favorite chipmunk. Lena
tries to attack, but the screen always stops her. Ole just likes to
watch. They meet us at the door for attention when we have been gone
and are ever present when we are home. Thank you again for all your
good work and for our great new feline friends. -Verna and Bruce
